FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before you start.
Do I need to create an account? +
No. The free version works entirely offline with no signup. An account is only required if you want cloud sync (Premium).
Does it connect to my bank? +
No. You enter your starting balance and log transactions manually. This is intentional — it keeps your bank credentials private and builds the kind of mindful engagement that actually changes spending habits.
Is my data safe? +
Your data lives on your device. If you use cloud sync, it is encrypted on your device before upload using AES-256-GCM with a passphrase only you know. The server cannot read it — and neither can the developer.
What happens if I clear my browser or lose my device? +
Your local data would be lost, which is why the Export Backup feature exists — download a copy of your database from Settings any time. With cloud sync enabled (Premium), your data is also kept in the encrypted cloud backup.
Can I use it on my phone? +
Yes — the web app is fully responsive and works well in mobile browsers. A native iOS app is in development.
Can I track credit cards? +
Yes. Add a credit account, set your credit limit, and the app tracks your debt balance and available credit correctly.
What is the minimum balance feature? +
It is the lowest your balance will reach across all upcoming unpaid transactions. If rent is due in 10 days and your car payment in 14, the app shows the exact date your balance hits that low point — so you can see it coming and plan around it well in advance.
How much does it cost? +
The full budgeting system is free forever, including up to two accounts, scheduled transactions, budget envelopes, and minimum balance forecasting. Premium is $10/month (or $100/year) and adds unlimited accounts, an 18-month forecast horizon, and end-to-end encrypted cloud sync across devices.
